Oak will be closed next Monday, September 2nd through Monday the 9th for our annual staff summer vacation! Take advantage of our last weekend before the vacation — the forecast is looking awesome

We 🤍🤍🤍 this cauliflower from @riverrunfarm_sequim !!!

Veggies taste better when they go straight from the farm to your plate! And Oak is always searching for locally grown veggies to serve to you whenever available and possible!

We are using this perfect Cauliflower to make our current share plate special::: “Flower Power Wings” - Tempura battered cauliflower wings with house-made sweet chili sauce 😋

@riverrunfarm_sequim offers their veggies at Farmers Markets in multiple locations in Seattle, so you could also have this lovely cauliflower (or an array of other veggies)! 🥗

Oak shrubs

Looking for a delicious non-alcoholic beverage? Try Oak’s Shrub, concocted of house-made acidulated fruit syrup with soda! The flavor rotates; right now we are serving a very refreshing and satisfying Blueberry Lime Shrub. And if you were hoping for a more adult beverage, add a shot of vodka or gin to spice things up!

SIDENOTE about shrubs - Oak’s shrubs are always of the acidulated fruit type, never the vinegared syrup stuff which is confusingly also called a shrub, but is arguably much less delicious though it claims health benefits. We will stick with the tasty strain of shrub here at Oak. 😛

Vegan vanilla ice cream

Big news!! Oak (FINALLY!) has vegan vanilla ice cream!! It has been requested for years, and we have agreed that it would make a lovely addition to our vegan bourbon apple crumble (pictured here next to the vanilla vegan ice creams), or even the vegan chocolate cupcakes or the vegan chocolate chip cookies! However, the hunt for bulk amounts of vegan ice cream within Oak price range allowances has been the real challenge. We finally found a match, and we are SO very excited to share this news with many of our lovely Oak regulars who have waited ever so patiently for us to find it! 🍨 😋

For example, our chickpeas come from Haricot Farms, a farm in Quincy, Washington - an operation that prides itself with its incredible sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. We love keeping the support local and the ingredients fresh as possible!
