New Specials at Oak starting this evening! Pictured here is the “Oak Bleus” burger special - Sweet and tangy house-made pickled red onions on a 1/3 lb. hand pressed Painted Hills burger patty paired with a sharp bleu cheese with fresh arugula & Oak’s special lemon-oregano aioli. Appetite smasher!! 😋
Oak’s outdoor picnic tables are now enveloped in radiant orange shelters! While this does offer protection from a nippy breeze or pelting rain, we haven’t quite cracked the code on how to get a heat source inside. So, for now, bundle up in your favorite sweater or bring along your coziest blanket if you’re planning on occupying one of the big picnic tables outside. They’re so much fun!
New rotating draft beer at Oak!
From Hale’s Ales, their fresh hop season offering:
Hop Drop is an aromatic, malt balanced IPA supercharged with an overload of Amarillo Fresh Hop known for its distinct bouquet of tangerines, lemons, apricots, and melon.

Happy Friday everyone!! 🍻
Hello Seattle! We have some somber news. After some serious consideration, we must cancel our brunch program for the next several months.
Thank you to those who came along for the journey, which started right after the shut-down in March 2020, when we did a simple grab ‘n’ go breakfast menu, trying to find revenue avenues to aid our fight to survive the pandemic. The grab ‘n’ go breakfast eventually blossomed into full-on brunch service as the world began to open up again. However, the pandemic continues to haunt restaurants. Trying to keep a comfortable and safe working environment to those who must expose themselves to the public by working at Oak while struggling with ongoing staffing shortages and attempting to get back to the service standards we were able to upkeep in 2019 is an absolute impossible feat at this time.
Oak staff has been breaking their backs trying to keep brunch going, and it’s time for some respite. Working at a restaurant in these times is incredibly mentally and physically taxing. So, for now, we will stick to what we know and do well - Delicious comfort food, awesome drinks, stellar whiskey, and accommodating a good time and safe space for our community.
Friendly reminder Beacon Hill: Oak is air conditioned! Both the dining room and the Den (and the bar - soon to be opened again) have independent air conditioning units. The Den specifically is feeling like an ice box these days… ❄️❄️❄️❄️
Brunch cancelled this weekend - May 15th and 16th!
We will be open for regular weekend dinner service, from 5pm to 10pm!
We are very sorry for any disappointment this may cause! Pandemic times have forced us to work with a very limited staff, and when our amazing and hard-working staff asks for a break, we just don’t have coverage available to keep the train running with even one less person. Our main brunch cook must attend his daughter’s graduation this weekend, and we deem that a very important reason to take the weekend off!! 🥳♥️
Many of you have seen on the news that this is a nation-wide issue, and many restaurants and other businesses are having trouble attaining adequate staffing at this time. Oak is not exempt to this problem! That being said, if you are interested in joining the Oak crew, please send us a message and we can give you some details. 🙂
Thank you for understanding that we are doing the best we can in one crazy economic time! We’ll be back at the brunch game with fiery passion the following weekend of May 22nd and 23rd!
Oak’s famous Chicken Pot Pies are back baby!!!!! That comforting chicken, carrot, pea, onion, garlic, and thyme stuffing all cozied up beneath that buttery flaky pie crust... YUM!! 🤤🤩🥳
Are you craving the refreshment of a lively IPA but are staying away from the wobbly-pop at the moment?? This is the summertime beverage for you!! Quite possibly the best tasting, most legit non-alcoholic beer we’ve ever had here at Oak! Give it a try, it’s impressive! 🍻
On this Mother’s Day weekend we would like to remember a special mother of the extended Oak family –– Sherry Shipley.
Former mother-in-law to Jeff, and a major influence on the aesthetic of our restaurant.
Sherry was responsible for some of the amazing dog portraits that folks enjoyed over the years on the walls of Oak.
We lost Sherry this year to a battle with cancer. She leaves behind an amazing and loving family. She also leaves all of us with her lifelong artistic creations that she was so well known for.
Though we no longer get to have Sherry with us, we do get to celebrate her through her art. Below is a link to where prints of her artwork can be found. Purchases can help support her husband and artistic partner, Stan.
Happy Mother’s Day, Sherry. We miss you and will think of you as we continue to enjoy your beautiful artistic expressions.

Greetings, friends! The days continue to get longer as we approach Summer, and we are noticing a little change in business flow. Folks are coming by for dinner a little bit later! We are going to shift our hours to 5pm - 10pm Tuesday - Friday, and from 9am - 10pm on Saturday & Sunday (closed on Mondays for the time being) to accommodate the Summer flow. This should allow y’all to take full advantage of that sweet sunlight and still head on over to Oak for dinner and drinks after your outdoor adventures have ceased for the day. We do tend to fill up quickly during our dinner rush (6-8:30), so if you know you’re coming to Oak, claim your space with a reservation via our website at oak-seattle.com! 🤗
We’ve done it again... introducing our revamp of the vegan Phishwitch patty 2.0!! Mixed vegetable cutlet, dunked in our house-made beer batter and fried to crispy flaky perfection, topped with coleslaw and arugula, atop a bed of our delicious caper-dill tartar sauce and pickle slices, with just a teensie spread of Dijon!
Back in January, the Dijon Porcini Cutlet we used for many years was discontinued, so we toiled over finding and making a replacement. We found an awesome vegan vegetable cutlet that we were battering and rolling in a spicy seasoned panko that we have been serving for the past few months. However, we were not completely satisfied with that outcome, and I know some of avid phishwitch-of-past fans were still missing that porcini party even with the new replacement.
So.... here we go again! Come on by and give it a try and tell us what you think!! We believe we’ve found “the one”!! Looking forward to your feedback!
Tonight we are debuting a new type of vegan chicken tender!! Introducing Rebellyous Foods plant-based vegan tenders, served with Oak’s famous house-made bourbon BBQ sauce!
Just to catch y’all up— over the past several years, we have used Fieldroast’s lentil-sage loaves to make vegan tenders. We loved this product as we know many of you have, but sadly it has been permanently discontinued.
While we are sad for the loss of a great product and menu item, we are absolutely stoked on these Rebellyous tenders! They will be served atop our vegan kale Caesar salad and available to order a la carte in a basket. Swing by, try them out, let us know what you think!
Back in action tonight at Oak! If you’re worried about not being warm enough under our heat lamps outside, feel free to bring a pile of cozy blankets with you! And layers!! Many socks and many sweaters make make for a snuggly outing under a heat lamp at Oak! If you want to reserve a table, or order some delicious food to go, visit oak-seattle.com
Can’t wait to see y’all tonight!
The polls are in, not enough of our staff can find a safe way to get to Oak to open for dinner service. Sorry, friends! We gave it a grade-A effort, but safety is always the most important factor!
If you are looking for a Valentine’s Day gift for your sweetheart, we do sell e-gift cards on our website, oak-seattle.com, and you can present them with a raincheck (...or rather, snowcheck...😬) date night at Oak later this week or next weekend! ☺️
So all the sweeties that were planning on spending their Valentine date night at Oak... so sorry we couldn’t be there for you... we tried!! Hopefully you can still make the most of a snowy day and come visit us soon! 🥰💕
The Seattle Valentine’s Weekend Blizzard continues, making it still unviable for our beloved staff to travel into Oak. 😢 Sorry, friends!
Like yesterday, several of us are on weather watch, and if we can make a dinner service happen for you, we wil. Check in after a few hours to see our assessment! Love to you all! ❄️❤️❄️
Conditions are not looking promising enough for Oak to open for dinner. Sorry folks!! 😭 We are going to shoot for opening tomorrow morning at 9am for Brunch again... hopefully roads will be able to give our staff safe journey to Oak tomorrow. ‘Til then... stay safe and warm friends!
The snow really went for it overnight! Unfortunately, this means some of our staff members cannot make it to Oak safely this morning. We are canceling Brunch, but we are going to play this by ear... please check in with us in a few hours to see if we will be able to be open for dinner! ❤️ Be safe, everyone!
It may be chilly out, with threats of a snowstorm, but we’re still here and open for you this brisk Friday evening! If the snow does get out of control, and our staff is not able to safely make it work, we will be posting any updates of closure on Instagram, Facebook, and our website! That’s a big “if” though... as for now, we are planning on being open! Bring your cozy gear and a blanket and huddle up at one of our tables under a heat lamp with your favorite beverage!
For several years, Oak has offered a much-loved sandwich called “the Vegan Phishwitch”. Until recently, the sandwich featured Fieldroast’s Porcini-Dijon cutlet. Sadly, that product was discontinued. After much sourcing and testing and trial sandwiches, we have finally came up with a viable replacement. The new Phishwitch features a mixed vegetable cutlet that we dunk in our house-made tempura batter, then roll in seasoned panko before frying it to crispy perfection. The sandwich also includes our insanely delicious house-made vegan caper-dill tartar sauce, a light spread of Dijon mustard, coleslaw, and arugula. YUMMO!
If you are one of the long-standing fans of the Phishwitch, please let us know how you like the new patty!!

New at Oak! Replacing the staple “Oly & a Crow” shot and beer combo, is a new and improved version, “Oldie & a Crow”! A 12oz can of Maritime Pacific Brewing’s Old Seattle Lager, paired with a shot of Old Crow Bourbon. Cheers!! 🍺🥃🤗
