Oh hi friends! It’s Oak again. I know you’ve heard a lot from me lately, but this is truly exciting news... starting tomorrow, Wednesday March 18th, Oak is opening at NOON for LUNCH service! Now you can order your favorite burger or salad or fried chicken sandwich for lunchtime! And the next couple of days calls for sunshine, which means you should grab some food and get some fresh air and soak up some rays at Jefferson park... there is enough space there to maintain safe social distancing picnic-style. Sunshine is good for the soul. So is Oak’s delicious food. 😜 Another big thank-you to all the folks in our community that have ordered food from Oak this evening. We love you all!

Y’all - here is a beautiful example of community coming together to support each other in these crazy times. Counterbalance, despite their own need for them, have graciously provided Oak with several of their growlers, so we may sell our beer and create revenue. We have, in return, purchased two cases of counterbalance IPA which are available to purchase via to-go ordering. As of this evening, all of our draft beers, bottled or draft wines, and canned beers are available to purchase alongside your takeout meals! Thank you, Counterbalance!! Hey neighbors! We are trying a new thing! Katy here has volunteered to be Oak’s delivery driver for the next while. If you would like food delivered to you, please check the map to make sure you are within our geographic limitations. There is a $3 charge for delivery service on top of the 20% automatic gratuity. For those who do not know, Oak is pooling all gratuities collected and will be dispersing them to all Oak’s furloughed staff to help them make it through these trying times! If your pocketbook allows for it, we encourage leaving additional tips (only if it is truly affordable for you!). Thank you to all who placed orders with us yesterday and were very generous! In light of the COVID-19 virus, we here at Oak have gone above and beyond our normal cleaning and sanitizing regiment. Along with two hand-sanitizing stations available for public use, Oak staff has been upping the sanitization station game, with triple the efforts in cleaning every area in the restaurant that experiences any kind of human contact consistently throughout the day and night. Hello neighbors! Oak is extremely happy to announce a new whiskey offering — Uncle Nearest.

Oak is one of very few locations in the entire PNW to have all 3 Uncle Nearest expressions.

This whiskey is named for the first African American Master Distiller on record in the US.

Aged barrels are hand-selected by the brand’s founders, and the batches curated by descendants of Nearest Green, blended by Victoria Eady-Butler who is the first and only African-American Master Blender for a major spirits brand.

Right now, on Oak’s Specials menu, we are serving the “Almost Famous Blooming Onion”- hand-carved onion, breaded and deep fried to golden-brown perfection and served with ranch dressing! This is the Derbyshire Cottage Pie - currently on Oak’s specials menu. A recipe brought to us by one of our lovely staff, who grew up in the United Kingdom and enjoyed this recipe throughout their childhood (thank you for sharing with us!!). Savory Painted Hill’s ground beef with peas, carrots, onions, leeks, and celery, seasoned and topped with creamy mashed potatoes and shaved Parmesan cheese. The perfect dish to warm you up on a drizzly winter day!
